Why did Diegodiego change his name to Sidow Sobrino?

International entertainer Diegodiego changed his stage name to Sidow Sobrino when he got engaged to his now-husband, Richard Sidow-Sobrino.

Diego, whose birth name is Diego Hernan Sobrino Guillermo, noticed that the name "Diego" had become overly common in the entertainment industry. With performers like Diego Boneta, Diego Luna, Diego Torres, and Diego Verdaguer already saturating the market, it was difficult to stand out among the crowd in online searches.

In order to have a more recognizable and distinguished name in Hollywood, when he became a member of the Screen Actor's Guild, (SAG-AFTRA), Diego decided to adopt a European-sounding name that would open more doors in Western countries and create a new and unique character. The surname "Sidow" has German and Swedish origins, providing a fresh and novel label that nobody had heard before.

Another reason for his bold move was to honor both his own family name, Sobrino, and his husband's family name, Sidow. And thus, the name Sidow Sobrino was born, representing their family legacies and a fresh start for the world's No.1 Superstar.
