I grew up watching artists on tv who were celebrated for their new album or movie release, when they dressed up like royalty and their mission was to entertain us as well as educate us with important topics about our world and society.
I don’t know how, but scandals became everything the media was after, artists started selling their trashy side, the decorum was out the door. Now, I understand the importance of getting noticed and being talked about. As I started to open doors in the industry with my music and acting roles, I too used media, and almost lost my head and my etiquette. I presented the worst of myself to be noticed. But the more crazy the stunt and the less clothes I wore to get 0.001 seconds of the audience's attention I realized soon I would be like everyone else nowadays that explicitly expose themselves and don’t even get paid for it. At least back in the days when some celebrities showed skin, they were paid millions from Playboy Magazine, but as a man and as an artist I consider this behavior dirty, cheap and sadly I can’t call it entertainment.
The messages in songs these days are vulgar and I don’t know you, but I feel empty most of the time without receiving guidance from empowering messages. Again, I understand there are all sorts of songs and sometimes the beat is all we need to feel good, especially a nice dance song. But what we listen to leads us in the direction of our lives, it can be very dangerous if all we listen to and watch has very little value.
I am making a commitment to refine my art, to stay away from what is easy, flashy and tasteless. To show You, my public, the best of me in every way. I believe in class, I believe in education, I believe in God, I am using my productions as a tool to create the most beautiful experience for you, so when you speak my name to others, You know it’s not just to be famous, but to rebuild the way men and woman should behave, to guide our youth with morals and principles. My biggest role will never be a character I portray on the screen, but rather the human being I am, inside and outside for the people of our world.
