Every Album I have produced has always filled my heart with Joy, knowing my songs will tell stories accompanied by sounds that will motivate my public to continue going through life's hard days. I endure my share of these negative experiences like you. The day I lost my grandmother on my dad's side was painful, but I was a kid, younger than 9. After losing Grandma Sobrino, I put all my love into my Grandpa Sobrino and Mami Bertha, My mom's mother. Around age 11, I lost Granpa Sobrino. Grandpa Guillermo was not around, so I can't say I knew him.
I saw Grandma Guillermo had passed announced on social media, She was in Mexico at the time, and I had finished a gig related to Christmas. I lay on the couch for a week, angry at everyone I could. It hurt, but I pulled through and continued. I had just released The world's most powerful man EP.
My amir is my 11th Album, I'm very excited to produce it, but it's been very hard.
Last year in November of 2021, we had to put our dog Onix to sleep. Weeks later, our cousin Joanie, one of the most beautiful souls I have inherited from my husband Richard, died before she turned 50. The most horrible case of cancer took her life a day before the Rich Man's birthday. He was devastated, and I had to be his rock. Joanie had been so welcoming and caring. I played jokes on her over the phone and we laughed endlessly during our last trip together to Lake Erie. On our way back to the hotel from the beach, lightning hit our car. We were blinded by the light and sacred the lunch out of us as the car shooke. We survived. But she didn't, months later we had to say good bye.
Last week we lost our Uncle Jack. God only knows how Richard keeps doing his Job, and I mine. My audience means the world to me, everyone who supports my art and streams our songs. All of you who clap, cheer for my success, and share our content. But now,
Only a week later. Our dog Karmal is not well, and it is painful to see him around the house falling and having lost his sense of direction. We will have to put him to sleep, maybe today or later this week. The situation is what it is, and if God wants him, we can only turn him in and accept that it is a part of life.
The saying in my business is the show must go on, and I can go on; professionally, I have and must continue because I'm passionate about my calling, but as far as my personal life, my strength is God, my memories, and being as mother Fu**n vital to wake up the next day and smile at everyone around me. I'm not the type to pretend. I express my feelings as I experience them. It's no one's fault. A man is as strong as how he handles what life throws at him.
I'm still committed to making My Amir a great album with dance songs that everyone can enjoy, But after Covid, happy people, we're tired; we've experienced quite a lot. We still managed to release I'm Obsessed With You, so I know I can do this, and I thank you for being there for my family and me, and appreciate your support.
I'm sure You have stories to share with us about losing your loved ones at times least expected. Take the time to tell us how did you pull through? I need to hear from you. I want to know what you did that kept you strong; if you were not, that is ok. I just want to wrap my head around your stories, so I keep my head busy, learning, and growing.
