Demand Respect: Why Waiting in Line for Castings is a Waste of Your Talent

Dear Colleagues, this one is especially for you. In the cutthroat world of entertainment, your time and effort are invaluable commodities. Yet, some production companies still cling to outdated practices like first come first serve castings or cattle calls. Let's face it: these methods not only disrespect your time but also undermine the dignity of your craft.

As a talent in the industry, you have lines to learn, characters to create, goals to achieve, and dreams to manifest. Would you willingly waste precious hours standing in line behind 25 or more hopefuls for just one project? We received a message from a production company in London this morning, and we replied  “ABSOLUTELY NOT.”

The entertainment business is demanding enough without adding unnecessary hurdles. I refuse to participate in such demeaning processes and encourage you to take  a high stand and don't do it either.

Consider this: if a casting department can't see the value in respecting your time, why bother? Instead, seek out opportunities with companies that uphold ethical standards and value your professionalism.

It's a simple equation: if they don't respect your time, they don't deserve your talent. Let's make it clear: we won't tolerate being treated as mere numbers in a lineup.

So, the next time you're faced with the prospect of waiting in line for a casting call, remember your worth. Say no to the disrespect. Sayonara to the outdated practices. Your talent deserves better, and it's time to demand the respect you rightfully deserve.
