We enjoyed Ourselves With A show at Circus Vargas

When was the last time you went to see a circus show? We did yesterday. We heard Circus Vargas was in the neighborhood, and the show this time is “Bonjour Paris. ”

Having been in France last June, now officially on spring break, and looking for inspiration, we headed to see the show under the big top. As expected, the production is a high-energy, action-packed extravaganza that delivers the ultimate live family entertainment experience c’est magnifique!

One exceptional athlete after another, we were mesmerized by all the dangerous stunts, impressive physiques, and the glimmer of their costumes. The cast charmed the audience with their choreographies and infectious smiles.

With so much happening in our world right now, we must look for ways to remain calm, entertained, and learn. As a performer, every show, movie, song, and video inspires me. I won't risk my life hanging from ropes or have the talent for juggling objects. However, I understand the passion that boils in our blood for connecting with people.

Performing in front of an audience requires vulnerability and courage. We put ourselves on display and are open to potential criticism or rejection. When the audience responds positively, it's incredibly validating and affirming. The connection that comes from sharing a performance with an audience is fulfilling. A reminder that our work has meaning and impact. We feel a  part of something larger than ourselves.

But being on the other side of the show as a spectator also enhances our creative side. I learn from my peers and gain insights into different styles, techniques, and approaches to performing. A live show, notably a Circus production, creatively integrates elements such as acrobatics, dance, clowning, and aerial work into their performances. This helps to come up with new and innovative ideas.

WE LOVED EVERY SECOND AND CLAPPED SO HARD OUR HANDS WERE ON FIRE!
