Just like you, at the Sidow Sobrino Ultimate Kingdom of Joy we celebrate Halloween by dressing up, Only, as a form of respect believing that our ancestors walk on earth and are among us, we choose to celebrate their soul and their presence by wearing costumes that represent power, royalty and strength.

Richard Sidow-Sobrino dressed as Zeus for Halloween 2020

For 2020 we are choosing to be young Zeus. Zeus is the god of the sky in ancient Greek mythology. As the chief Greek deity, Zeus is considered the ruler, protector, and father of all gods and humans. Zeus is the child of Cronus and Rhea, the youngest of his siblings to be born, though sometimes reckoned the eldest as the others required disgorging from Cronus's stomach. In most traditions, he is married to Hera, by whom he is usually said to have fathered Ares, Hebe, and Hephaestus.

Zeus' symbols are the thunderbolt, eagle, bull, and oak. When Zeus was atop Mount Olympus he was appalled by human sacrifice and other signs of human decadence. He decided to wipe out mankind and flooded the world with the help of his brother Poseidon. After the flood, only Deucalion and Pyrrha remained. This flood narrative is a common motif in mythology. Sidow Sobrino dressed as Zeus for Halloween 2020

So, as we celebrate Halloween 2020, in the middle of a devastating pandemic, we embodied Greek religious beliefs and the archetypal Greek deity Zeus. What did you dress as for Halloween? we want to know, share your photos with us, we will post them here in our gratitude blog to share with all who visit us from all around the world.
