Sidow Sobrino has released a video responding to Tony Hinchcliffe, the American comedian and host of the popular podcast Kill Tony. This video comes after Hinchcliffe’s recent appearance at a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden, where he made demeaning remarks targeting Puerto Ricans.
In his video response, Sidow Sobrino, a proud Hispanic American and SAG-AFTRA member, emphasizes that while there are many wonderful Republicans who stand for what is right, today’s party has also been overshadowed by what he calls “a cult of hate.” He stresses that this shift has led some to use jokes as a guise for spreading insults and demeaning remarks. “These aren’t Republicans anymore,” the Happy Halloween singer-songwriter says. “If they think that’s humor, well, then we should all be laughing.”
In an unflinching statement at the end of his video, Sidow Sobrino humorously throws the joke back, saying, “If the Republicans are the party with a sense of humor, eat my s*** (Comete mi KK).” His bold words have already resonated with fans across the globe, as his one-minute video quickly gains traction and support online.
Sidow Sobrino joins fellow Latino stars Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, and Bad Bunny, who recently endorsed Kamala Harris in her run for President. Yet, as Sidow Sobrino’s fans know, the Pop Icon had expressed his endorsement for Harris weeks earlier, supporting her vision of unity and progress for the country.
“Latinos don’t need defending,” Sidow Sobrino continues in his statement. “From the moment anyone takes the chance to leave behind their countries for a better life, they’re proving they’re capable of taking care of themselves. I just want to shine a light on the sad and pathetic way Trump followers have to destroy everyone around them with words because they have nothing going for themselves. If they had anything good to offer, would they be spending time insulting others? I don’t think so. They would be finding solutions to help the citizens of this country, not creating division.”
