The World’s No.1 Superstar® Moves Forward With “Disco Dancing,” a Blast From the Past Reimagined for Today

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW YORK, LOS ANGELES & TOKYO

There is something cyclical about music history. Every generation eventually looks back, not out of nostalgia alone, but in search of feeling—of movement, release, and connection. With Disco Dancing,” The World’s No.1 Superstar steps confidently into that lineage, reviving the pulse of 1970s disco through a modern lens while speaking directly to listeners who lived through the era and those discovering its magic for the first time.

Part of the album Seminal, the track is a polished, high-energy homage to the timeless disco movement shaped by Donna Summer, Bee Gees, and Gloria Gaynor. Built on infectious groove, cinematic production, and commanding vocals, “Disco Dancing” channels the communal joy of packed dance floors while embracing contemporary precision and scale.

“This is a very personal and deep moment for us,” says Sidow Sobrino. “Three things inspired me to bring this track alive. My husband Richard and I, while seven years apart, both grew up during the ’70s. The sound of the genre was everywhere. I was also struck by something Martin Scorsese shared on Instagram about revisiting old films to enrich his artistic palette—to study and learn. And finally, sitting down to enjoy Saturday Night Fever starring John Travolta. All the puzzle pieces came together. I knew I had to bring it to life through my own art.”

That sense of lived experience runs through the song’s lyrics, which celebrate physical connection and shared rhythm: bodies moving in sync, souls intertwined, the bassline pulling everyone into the same moment. It is disco not as costume or retro affectation, but as a living language—one that still knows how to make people feel alive.

Richard Sidow-Sobrino echoes that emotional throughline. “Disco songs from ABBA and the Bee Gees left a lasting impression on my musical heart,” he says. “Fast-forward 50 years, and my husband and I co-wrote the lyrics to ‘Disco Dancing’ to pay homage to the ’70s in the most uplifting way possible. Like us, there are so many people out there who are going to want to put on their shoes and start dancing.”

That multigenerational appeal is central to the track’s impact. For listeners who remember mirrored disco balls and vinyl spinning late into the night, the song reconnects them with a familiar freedom. For younger audiences raised on digital playlists and genre-blending pop, it offers a gateway into a movement that was always about more than sound—it was about release, unity, and joy.

With “Disco Dancing,” The World’s No.1 Superstar does not simply look backward. He reframes disco as a timeless force, one capable of moving bodies, igniting spirit, and proving that some rhythms never lose their power—they just wait for the right moment to return.
