Born Larry Randolph Jackson on November 12, 1941, in the Henderson, KY & Evansville, IN area of the United States, he was raised in San Diego, California, from the age of 12. A legendary songwriter, Larry composed numerous hit songs for some of the most iconic recording artists in music history. To protect his legacy, many of his works were released under pseudonyms by his father.
One of his most celebrated achievements is writing the 1979 hit “You Decorated My Life” by Kenny Rogers—a timeless ballad that continues to resonate through generations.
