Iva Franks-Singer is an American actress, producer, and activist whose career spans nearly three decades across television, film, and independent productions. Born in Carson City, Nevada, and raised in Clovis, California, she grew up in a dynamic household with four older brothers who were martial arts instructors, shaping her early exposure to discipline and resilience.
At 24, Franks-Singer was already serving her community as an EMT, working both in ambulances and emergency rooms in Los Angeles and Fresno. That same sense of drive carried into her acting career, where she has trained extensively — from acceptance into the prestigious Sal Dano Actor’s Workshop, led by the legendary coach himself, to advanced studies at The Groundlings, mastering performance and comedic timing. With over 14 years of technical training, she cultivated a craft that would carry her into a professional career of more than 28 years.

Franks-Singer’s résumé includes more than 25 independent feature films, along with recurring and guest-starring roles on major television shows. Highlights include appearances in NBC’s Las Vegas alongside James Caan, FOX’s cult sci-fi series Space: Above and Beyond, Blood Relatives, and Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show, Great Job. Her versatility has allowed her to move seamlessly between drama, comedy, and genre storytelling.
Beyond the screen, Franks-Singer is deeply committed to advocacy and philanthropy. A passionate supporter of animal rescue and humanitarian causes, she has served as one of the top fundraisers for City of Hope’s Underwear Affair, benefiting cancer research. She also sits on the Board of Directors for Jodi’s Voice, an anti-stalking organization, and collaborates with victims’ rights advocates to influence legislative change for the protection of victims and their families nationwide. Additionally, she lends her leadership to the Los Angeles Women’s International Film Festival, overseeing documentary programming, and she is the co-founder of Squrrul Gurl Productions, where she continues to champion storytelling from unique and underrepresented voices.
Iva Franks-Singer represents the modern artist-activist: a performer with a career rooted in craft, and an advocate whose influence extends far beyond the entertainment industry into meaningful social impact.
