Disaster struck the home studio of The World's No.1 Superstar this past weekend, bringing an unexpected halt to the production of his latest music video. What was supposed to be a weekend of creative magic turned into a scene of devastation as the artist discovered his filming equipment submerged in sewage water. Cameras, lighting rigs, and even backdrops were left swimming in filth, rendering them useless.
This isn’t the first time such a catastrophe has disrupted the Pop Icon’s production schedule. Back in 2022, while preparing to shoot The Frustrated music video, a burst pipe at the filming location caused a massive delay. However, this time, the nightmare unfolded within the walls of his own home studio, creating an even greater setback.
Sidow Sobrino recounted the shocking moment, saying, “My husband Richard arrived home, and as usual, he loved on the dog, gave him a treat, and as he walked into the house, he exclaimed there was a foul smell. He proceeded to the bathroom and saw the bathtub filled with undesired objects floating around. On the other side of the house, the bathroom I use—which also serves as my equipment storage space—had become a war ground. I wasn’t sure if saving anything was worth the effort, especially when fecal matter can be toxic. The cameras, especially—once water gets inside them, they’re destroyed. The lights, too. And as for the backdrops, well, the stains would tell the story of a horrendous moment I didn’t care to remember.”
Plumbing experts were immediately called in to assess and fix the issue, but even a week later, the setback has left Sidow Sobrino unable to move forward with his projects. Replacing the equipment is expected to come at a significant cost, but beyond the financial hit, the industry’s unforgiving nature makes even a minor delay a logistical nightmare.
“In our industry, a day or two of delay is suicide,” Sobrino explained. “You have to move projects in the calendar around so it doesn’t affect everything else. Now, without the proper equipment at this moment, it’s uncertain if the projects we had planned will be completed on time.”
Despite the unexpected disaster, Sidow Sobrino remains unwavering in his determination to bounce back. “It’s moments like these that test our resilience. And trust me, taking a deep breath is not recommended—it smells bad.”
