We didn't want a strike, but we are not afraid of a fight. We are #SAGAFTRAstrong!

The AMPTP refused to make a fair deal on television, theatrical, and streaming work covered by our TV/Theatrical Agreements. , The AMPTP are companies like Amazon/MGM, Apple, NBCUniversal, Disney/ABC/Fox, Netflix, Paramount/CBS, Sony, and Warner Bros. It's the major studios who hire me and all performers to work on all the films and TV shows you watch on TV and the silver screen in movie theaters.

You may see a celebrity and think, We have it easy. As Hollywood actors, we often work long and demanding hours, and our level of effort can vary depending on various factors, such as the production schedule, our role, and the project's specific demands. While the glamorous image of Hollywood might suggest a life of luxury and ease, the reality is that acting is a highly competitive and demanding profession that requires a great deal of hard work and dedication.

Preparation is a crucial aspect of an actor's work. We spend significant amounts of time researching and studying our roles, understanding the character's motivations, and delving into the script to bring the character to life. This process involves analyzing the character's background, emotional state, and relationships to create a believable portrayal.

Once on set, we endure long shooting days, sometimes lasting up to 12 hours or more. We have to maintain focus and energy throughout the day, even when repeating scenes multiple times to capture different camera angles or retake shots. This can be physically and mentally exhausting, especially during emotionally intense or physically demanding scenes.

We have to deal with the pressure of delivering lines accurately and convincingly while adhering to the director's vision. We have to memorize lengthy dialogues or perform complex stunts, requiring us to invest additional time and effort into training and practice.

Beyond the actual filming, we have other responsibilities related to our roles. This includes attending rehearsals, costume fittings, makeup sessions, and promotional activities such as interviews, red-carpet events, and press junkets. They may also need to maintain a certain physical appearance through workouts, dieting, and other forms of self-care.

Furthermore, the life of a Hollywood actor can be highly unpredictable. We have to travel frequently for filming or promotional purposes, disrupting personal routines and requiring us to adapt to different time zones and environments.

It's worth noting that not all of us Hollywood actors experience the same workload. Established actors with established careers have more control over our schedules and project choices. However, even for successful actors, the journey to stardom typically involves years of hard work, persistence, and dedication.
